A: It is better to use 5mm double glass because:
Sliding doors look unattractive with single glass. There is ample space for glass, requiring extensive silicon filling if single glass is used.
5mm double glass is safer than 6mm single glass.
5mm double glass provides better soundproofing than single glass.
Q5: Can you use rubber instead of glass silicon?
A: Yes, but only on one side. The other side must use glass silicon because double rubber is not strong enough and is more prone to falling off.
