A: It is advisable to use 5mm double glass because:
A sliding door looks unappealing with single glass as it requires excessive silicon filling in the wide spaces.
5mm double glass is safer than 6mm single glass.
5mm double glass offers better soundproofing than single glass.
Q5: Can you use rubber instead of glass silicone?
A: Yes, but it can only be used on one side. The other side must have glass silicone because double rubber is not strong enough and is more prone to falling off.
